Clamps boost safety January 1st 2004 Rack and bar clamps from Carver & Co (Engineers) offer reliable, long life operation and fit-for-purpose use for applications throughout engineering.
The clamps are said to be particularly suited to welding applications where they will hold a workpiece in position prior to and during welding. The spring-loaded jaws stay in place once positioned and can be finally tightened when ready, allowing last minute adjustments.
The jaw pivots to securely clamp angled surfaces and the tightening action of the clamp cannot rotate the workpiece. Use of the clamps in welding operation is said to increase safety and efficiency, while saving on set-up times.
While the rack clamp consists of a notched bar worked to a J shape with one sliding jaw, the bar clamp has a straight notched steel bar and two sliding jaws. Both have the facility to reverse the jaws and can be used in reverse action.
The clamps are available in five types, including standard, medium and heavy duty versions, and also offer long reach options. Rack clamps accommodate capacities from 150 to 1350mm, while bar versions range from 600 to 2700mm holding capacities. More articles from Carver & Co: |
