ESAB is offering readers a free CDROM that contains a wealth of information about repair and maintenance welding.

It is designed to offer solutions to problems, such as the welding of unknown grades of steel, repairing components that are made from steels that are difficult to weld, joining dissimilar steels, and welding components that cannot be preheated easily.

It covers the process of selecting the correct consumables for a variety of repair or maintenance tasks. These include repairing cracked fabrications and castings, building up damaged or worn surfaces, and hardfacing.
