Range of roller beds November 1st 2010 ESAB has launched a range of roller
beds to help improve the
productivity and quality of round
fabrications such as wind turbine
towers, pipelines and vessels.
All of these welding automation
products are robust and are designed
to withstand harsh conditions.
Customers have a wide choice, with
sizes and features to suit diverse
applications. The roller beds can be
used in conjunction with ESAB's A2-
A6 process controller PEK system for
submerged arc welding, GMAW
welding and arc gouging.
Depending on the model,
maximum load capacity ranges from
2.5 to 60t per section and the roller
beds can handle component
diameters from 150mm to 8.4m.
Models include the CD 5-120 and
CI 5-120 for relatively simple
applications. These are conventional
roller beds (driven and idler types),
with features such as rollers with
durable polyurethane tyres and oversized
bearings. A solid-state inverter
gives precise speed control, and a
cast steel gearbox with double worm
gears gives smooth operation.
For those who need a complete
Fit-Up Bed, the FUB 30 consists of
one powered and one ideler bed,
four independently adjustable rollers
and a robust frame. More articles from ESAB Group UK Limited: |
