Stable solution for large loads
May 1st 2007

Promac Window Machinery Sales has improved the loading and handling of large piece of machinery since replacing a counterbalance forklift with a Combilift 4-way truck. The company supplies PVC, glass and aluminium machinery to the extrusion and glass and glazing sector in the UK and Ireland.

Scott Haslingden, director, says "Machines such as mitre saws or PVC welders can be 10m long, weigh more than 2t and are very problematic loads as their uneven weight distribution makes them badly balanced.

"Offloading and manoeuvring them into the building with the counterbalance truck entailed complicated and hazardous manoeuvres." The C4000 LPG 4t capacity Combilift has streamlined offloading, improved health and safety procedures and eradicated the risk of damage.

Loads can be rested on the platform rather than being balanced on forks, which is said to be more stable.
