Buildings have hot dip
galvanised steel frame (post
production) ensuring a long lifespan
for the steel structure (40 years plus)
in the most hostile weather
environments. The PVC fabric on
the structures has a lifespan in excess
of 25 years, dependant on the
environmental conditions.

Should a fire occur within the
structure, the fabric will melt away at
sustained high temperatures. This
will vent the structure and prevent
the collapse of the structural steel.

The frame can be refitted with new
vinyl in weeks, limiting disruption.

Rubb offers a number of different
fabric solutions to suit individual
projects, such as a fabric ‘mesh’ being
installed into the gable ends of the
facility, providing natural ventilation
but preventing waste material being
blown outside.

BIR AS in Norway handles refuse
for 319,000 households. Its new
facility has two NV buildings
constructed by Rubb Group. One is
25m wide x 27m long with 4m sidewall.

It has two 6m wide x 7m high
Crawford roller doors in one gable
and a personnel door. The second is
15m wide x 15m long with 4m sidewall
and large vertical lifting door.
