Handheld vibration meter
DJB Instruments UK has launched a new handheld vibration meter. Available as a complete kit including palm size meter, cables, vibration probe, magnet and worldwide charger the VS1 replaces the outgoing VT2 developed by the company’s founder Don Birchall.
The VS1 offers a range of upgraded features over the VT2 to enable vibration engineers to
monitor and analyse a variety of applications and scenarios.
Features include: Storage of up to 100 data readings, all time stamped, LCD which can be seen even in bright sunlight, rechargeable Lithium-ion battery, as well as a worldwide charger, and RMS, peak, peak-peak, crest factor readings in acceleration, velocity or displacement modes.
In addition, the unit features: Bearing condition mode (acceleration and velocity), rubber protective jacket, adaptive amplifier for high accuracy, AC output and audio output to enable the user to listen to the vibration being measured in isolation.
DJB’s MD, Neill Ovenden, said: “The VT2 has been in our
product range since 1994 and still has a loyal user base, however it really needed an update
to something that met a wider range of today’s applications. The VS1 is half the size of the
VT2 and has considerably more functionality and amazingly we can sell the complete kit at
the same price as we sold the VT2 giving customers more for their money.”
The VS1 is available to order now and can be ordered with additional IEPE accelerometers
from the DJB range.
