Visual management feature
Seiki Systems, provider of real-time manufacturing execution systems and production management solutions, has released a new Andon Presenter feature as part of its Networked Manufacturing System (NMS).
This new visual management feature is designed to enable users to present live production information in strategic locations throughout the facility and therefore increase visibility of current performance to the wider team. Communicating, sharing and analysing information in real time can support manufacturing organisations in their efforts to improve efficiency and productivity.
As a full screen solution the Andon Presenter is suitable for use on readily available and low cost television screens, PC monitors or projectors that can be conveniently mounted on the shop floor or in the production office.
An evolution of the classic Andon board, the Andon Presenter can be configured to present a number of performance screens on a continuous loop. One of the primary views recommended is the Live Status screen, which will tell staff the current status of all the machine resources on the shop floor.
The NMS solution can also use automatically generated status conditions to notify personnel via emails and SMS messages in the event of machine alarms, stoppages and associated events. Historical reports relating to the analysis of machine utilisation and job operation performance can also be generated.
