The first machine using the steam-e technology has been launched as a chewing gum removal machine. It destroys chewing gum in 3 to 6 seconds per piece by vaporising an additive, based on sugar beet which is made from 100% renewable sources. This takes the cost of destroying a piece of gum from about 10p per piece (Source Keep Britain Tidy) to less than 1p.

Steam-e has already had confirmed orders for more than 1700 machines.
