Thread milling cutters
The design of conventional taps and dies has changed little since the 17th century, except in terms of improvements in materials and precision. As machining speeds have increased, tool breakage due to the weakening fluted design and swarf clogging have become more of a problem. The new thread milling cutters from Toolex are designed to avoid these problems.
They cutters simplify thread cutting as internal and external threads, both right-hand and left-hand, can be cut using the same tool whilst the single point design enhances reliability and precision.
The new range of 14 sizes, which extends from M0.8 (0.57 mm Ø) to M10 (7.9 mm Ø), is supported by a range of matching 90° step drills. The thread cutters are available in carbide, with or without a Hard’X PVD Hard Surface multilayer coating, and the step drills are available with Hard’X coating only.
In common with all of the Toolex range, the new thread milling cutters and the step drills are available from stock for same day despatch of orders received before 16:00 on a normal working day.
