BCAS unveiled its new website – www.bcas.org.uk – at the recent Air-Tech exhibition. It aims to be the number one source of independent information for the compressed air industry.

Vanda Jones comments: “Compressed air is often known as the fourth utility. It is a vital resource for many diverse organisations across a wide range of applications.

"For such an important resource it is vital for industry to have an independent source of information and advice and also a trade association that can represent the industry as far as legislation, standards and directives are concerned. BCAS is also the place to go to understand what constitutes best practice as far as installation and maintenance is concerned.

“The website is an extension of this advice and information. Manufacturers, maintenance providers and end users of compressed air can rely on it to keep up to date with what is changing and best practice.  

“It allows end users to select compressed air suppliers and maintenance providers based on customer reviews via its Air-Rated service, in the confidence that BCAS members all adhere to the association’s standards.  The site also features a training section, with a number of courses available through eLearning, a knowledge section and information about legislation and standards.”

Online survey

BCAS is conducting a UK-wide industry survey to find out what users of compressed air need from their suppliers and maintenance providers. Everyone completing the survey will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win an iPad Mini.

Comments Vanda Jones: “As far as we know, this is the first time that there has been an independent survey of end users to discover what they want from their suppliers and maintenance providers and how they rate their supplier.

“I believe it is vital to take a snapshot of how the compressed air industry is performing and areas where we can collectively improve.”

The survey will run until September 2016, and results will be published later in the year.
