Newport Corporation has
introduced the TRA Actuator Series,
the latest in its range of precision
positioning devices.

The new range is said to
provide reliable,
motorised motion in
a compact,
lightweight package. The
space-saving design makes
the device suitable for a wide
range of motion applications.

The TRA comes in 6, 12.5 and
25mm travel ranges. Each model is
available in DC or stepper motor and
a vacuum-compatible, stepper motor
version. Actuators are small (15 or
25mm), yet have a 6kg load capacity.

Features include sub-micron,
minimal incremental motion and
micron level repeatability and an
integrated optical switch for reliable,
repeatable home positioning.

They are
compatible with Newport’s
motion controllers – from the
NewStep single axis, stepper motor
controller to the more sophisticated,
high performance XPS universal
controller.
