Business woman of the year
Jacqueline O’Donovan of O’Donavan Waste Disposal has been named Business Woman of the Year at the SME National Business Awards which are held to recognise the hard work, enterprise and endeavour of stand-out businesses on a national level.
Jacqueline O'Donovan became MD of the family business at the age of 19. The business has a turnover of £21m+ and 160 employees is known for its service and sustainable credentials, as well as for being an innovator in the waste and construction sector.
O'Donovan says: “2018 has been a phenomenal year for me and picking up this trophy has put the icing on the cake. I am delighted to be recognised not only for my business and leadership skills, but for inspiring other women into business and encouraging diversity.”
O'Donovan has received several accolades in 2018, including the PwC ’UK Private Businesswoman of the Year’ Award, the Building Magazine ‘Female Leadership’ Award as well as the ‘Woman of the Decade in Enterprise and Leadership’ from the Women’s Economic Forum.
