The Special Projects division
of the Wellman Group has
recently won six contracts
totalling more than £6m.

Formed two years ago, the
Special Projects division is
involved in large projects that
incorporate high pressure
steam (water tube) boilers in
the 10-100MW range. These
units and their installation
cover CHP, waste heat/gas
recovery and energy from
waste.

The installations currently
being delivered cover a
diversity of applications
across the energy utilities and
wider industry. The six main
contracts consist of three
orders from power generation
companies, including two
orders for complete packaged
boiler houses each containing
three 6000kg/h, 7bar, oil fired,
steam boilers housed in
separate, fireproofed cells
within the main structure and
each supported with its own
feed water supply, blow-down
vessel and chimney. The third
order is for a 28,000kg/h,
15bar, gas fired, twin furnace,
300°C superheated steam
boiler supplied and installed
as a complete package.
