To meet the constant need for efficiency improvements in the automotive market, Covpress has acquired a new 2500T transfer press.

The £3.5m investment will complement the company’s existing 800T and 1500T transfer presses, significantly expanding its portfolio of transfer, progression and tandem press capabilities.

With a bed area of 6 x 2.5m and a maximum blank loading size of 2 x 1.8m, the new 2500T press has the capability to produce large or multioperation components. The new machine will allow Covpress to process the latest high-strength materials through multi operations, an increasingly important consideration as the automotive industry moves towards even higherstrength steels to minimise weight.
