productivity and reduce the risk of
manual handling injuries at University
Hospital of South Manchester.

The Bed Mover is a compact
machine that manoeuvres patient
beds quickly and easily, with little
effort required from just one
operator. The machine attaches easily
to all bed types, using a coupling
mechanism that connects it to the
castors on the bed. It has ergonomic
controls and safety features, fits easily
into hospital lifts and is easy to
manoeuvre in tight spaces.

The operator pulls the bed castors
onto a multi-positional wheel lock
each side of the machine. As the
wheel raises, the castors drop into a
trapdoor. The porter pushes a button
on the machine which raises the
castors off the ground, giving control
over the bed during movement.
