Self adhesive labelling
specialist HERMA UK has
supplied a 352 C labelling
machine to Olympic Oils to
accurately and economically
apply front & side wraparound
labels to 5L bottles of
vegetable oil.

Olympic Oils’ previous
labelling equipment supplier
had ceased to trade and, at
PPMA 2010, the company
identified HERMA UK as a
potential supplier.

Plastic 5L bottles of oil are
transported on a synchronous
slat conveyor to be indexed
and presented at the HERMA
352 C labelling machine, at
which point the product is
held in position in a jig for
the 3 panel label to be
applied.When the jig is
returned to its home position
the product is automatically
released to be conveyed on
for end-of-line packing.

Tariq Ghani, MD of
Olympic Oils, says: “The
quality and engineering of
the labelling machine is much
better than our existing
equipment and it has operated
reliably and accurately.”
Another labelling machine
has subsequently been ordered.
