Control Products is Panther,
a recently introduced Elmo
digital servo drive. Panther joins
Elmo’s ExtrIQ product suite for
sinusoidal, trapezoidal and DC motors
that are designed to operate under
extreme environmental conditions
and military applications. It is
reported to be the most compact,
PCB-mounted servo drive that
operates directly from the mains (up
to 400VDC or 750VDC power source)
and delivers up to 7kW
of continuous
qualitative power.

There are two
single DC bus
options: 80-
400VDC and 200-
750 VDC, with a
built-in smart supply for
controlling the back-up capabilities.

The Panther servo drive can also
operate with a 24VDC auxiliary power
supply for the back-up features. It
supports many feedback types such as
incremental encoder, interpolated
analogue encoder, resolver and
tachometer and so forth.

With a compact size of 110 x 75 x
30mm and weight of 315g,
the Panther is
claimed to be
truly featurerich,
combining
high power
density,
programming
flexibility,
CANopen networking and numerous
motion control features.
