The handheld Vibroport 80 is a new
generation of portable vibration measuring
instrument from Brüel & Kjaer. It can
monitor and balance a range of machines in
a number of industries and processes. Its
extensive measurement and sensor input
capability mean it can be used for early
detection and diagnosis of incipient faults in
bearings, shafts,
gears, couplings
and so on.

Its
modular
concept
enables
both nonspecialist
and
experienced
analysts to use the
device. Entry-level modules provide basic
analysis (FFT spectra and rolling element
bearing fault diagnosis) and balancing (basic
analysis plus two plane field balancing with
polar plots). For the specialist, several
powerful add-on modules provide the
necessary functionality for measurement and
analysis of complex applications. This addon
functionality includes order analysis,
transfer function, and storage of time
waveform signals for post-processing.
