About us
Who are we
Established
in 2006, Hansford Sensors has already become a global market leader in
vibration monitoring. Led by Managing Director Chris Hansford, who has
over 30 years’ experience in the vibration monitoring industry, Hansford
Sensors offers a wealth of experience in the design and manufacture of
industrial vibration sensors for various applications, including Metals,
Pharmaceuticals, Wind Power, Marine, Paper, Coal and Quarries andFood and Beverage.
What we do
Hansford
Sensors manufactures and supplies vibration sensors and meters to over 44
countries worldwide. Our equipment enables measurable improvements in the
performance and efficiency of industrial plant by providing vibration
diagnostics that support predictive and preventative maintenance on key
equipment such as fans, pumps, motors and gearboxes. Our products include
intrinsically safe accelerometers approved for use in Group I (Mining) and
Group II (Petrochemical). We also supplymulti-sensor switch boxes, vibration sensor modules, portable vibration meters, accessories for sensors, vibration condition
monitoring protection systems and custom built vibration sensors.
What’s special about
Hansford Sensors?
In a
word, service. Customers return to Hansford Sensors time and again not
just because we offer exceptional product quality but because give them the
support they need. We make life easier for our customers in many ways,
offering not only a fast service but a high standard of technical knowledge and
support with all orders and enquiries. Customers of Hansford Sensors
value our flexible approach to manufacturing and our willingness to provide a
bespoke service; we can adapt our existing product lines to meet client
specifications, brand products with individual company logos and part numbers,
and meet specific packaging requirements. Our regular customers also
enjoy discounts on Hansford Sensors equipment and can always rely on our total
confidentiality.
Vibration monitoring
Our
accelerometers play a key role in predictive maintenance programmes, helping
you improve machine reliability, uptime and operating margins. Vibration sensors offer the potential for continuous monitoring and
analysis; an inexpensive option when balanced against the potential cost of
downtime on an automated line. With
vibration sensors, or accelerometers, mounted in a number of key positions on
mechanical equipment, and associated equipment to gather data and/or alert
engineers to developing problems, machine downtime can be significantly
reduced.
There are two main types of accelerometer: AC
accelerometers and 4-20mA accelerometers.
AC accelerometers are typically used with data collectors for monitoring
the condition of more critical/complex machines, such as gearboxes and
turbines, while 4-20mA components are commonly used with PLCs to measure lower
value assets, such as motors, fans and pumps.
A range of sensors and monitoring techniques are
now available with which to maximise machine uptime by extending operating life
beyond recommended maintenance intervals and, at the opposite end of the scale,
identifying rapid increases in vibration that could lead to a catastrophic
failure. The efficiency of vibration
sensors has driven demand in a number of ways; as well as offering enhanced
efficiency and increased performance, these devices also enable operators to
satisfy the ever-more robust regulations imposed regarding health and safety,
which have made the use of sensors in non-safe areas a prime requisite.
