A Hughes Pumps high pressure water
jetting unit is used by South Korean
water jetting contractor Sungdo Co
at the some of the country’s major oil
refineries. It is delivering a water jet
at 1400 bar, producing a velocity of
477m/s or Mach 1.4.

The hardest of scale is removed
from tube/pipe walls without damage
to the steel substrate. Used for
shutdown maintenance, including
pipe, vessel and heat exchanger tube
cleaning, the unit uses multiple
flexible lances with rotating nozzles
to clean 100% of the tube wall. Only
plain water is used.
