British Seed Houses (BSH) has
taken delivery of an Aisle-
Master articulated forklift to
speed up the handling of bags of seed
at the company’s Lincolnshire HQ.

A new warehouse accommodates
a growing volume of products and
gives BSH the flexibility of reserve
capacity to suit the seasonal nature of
its business. The Aisle-Master can
work in very narrow aisles, enabling
maximum storage density.

Operations manager Matt Stevens
says: “The aisle-widths of 2.2m in the
new facility are fine for us in terms of
space optmisation. More crucial was
the ability of the truck to move
quickly across a 10 acre site, to keep
operations moving at the pace we
require.”
Aisle-Master’s 20SHE electric
powered model ensures rapid transfer
of 700kg bags of seed across the three
warehouses. Indoor and outdoor
capability means bad weather or
uneven ground are no impediment
to 12h operation.

The new facility has racking to a
height of 7.2m. Mast stability is not a
problem; drivers find it smooth and
stable to operate even when lifting and
lowering bags from the top beams.
