A number of applications exist
that require corrosion
resistant sliding systems. A
typical example would be a sliding
roof for a home or a swimming
pool. Talking to many of its customers
and prospective customers, Euro-
Bearings is often asked for a more
economic solution. Using stainless
steel ball bushings and shafts is a
solution but it is not one you could
call cheap, the company says.

Euro-Bearings has come up with a
solution which uses hard anodised
aluminium tracks and carriages with

re-circulating Delrin balls. The tracks
come in three sizes (small, medium
and large) with two different carriage
lengths available for each track type.

There are two surface finishes for
the tracks, one being hard anodised
and the other being hard anodised
with the addition of a PTFE coating.

End stops are also available and the
tracks are pre-drilled. The carriages
have tapped holes on their top
surfaces. The product can be happily
exposed to the English weather and
even salt water, according to Euro-
Bearings. The load capacity ranges
from 220 to 1300kg per carriage.
