Records must be kept of all examinations and defects reported to both the person responsible for the equipment and the relevant enforcing authority.

Scafftag’s LOLER Tag inspection system, which permanently attaches to lifting equipment is designed to help companies keep track of maintenance. Scafftag recommends that the tag is placed as near to the operator cabin access point as possible, for maximum visual effect.

LOLER Tag uses Scafftag’s special Holder and Insert System. Inserts provide space for the equipment number, safe working load, signature box and next inspection date. They need to be completed and inserted into the holder to indicate equipment is fit for use. If any checks fail, the insert should be removed to display ‘Do Not Use’ and the operator should notify the supervisor.
