Curtis says LEDs have a solid state construction which strongly resists shock and vibration, they are very bright so can be used indoors and outdoors, have low energy consumption and last a long time.

The company’s beacon range includes standard xenon beacons which are IP54 rated, have low flash rates and are suitable for indoor use. The existing LED is a 6 burst, 65 flash per minute beacon, IP65 rated, for indoor and outdoor use. The new Curtis LED beacon has the same basic features, but has extra benefits (constant ‘on’ option and links to speed controllers to provide fault warning flashes if required, so potentially good for OEMs) and, at £16 it costs less than the existing version.

Dimensions are 120mm high by 148mm wide and the new beacon is backed by a 2 year warranty.
