LEZ-compliant compressors

14 January 2019

Genair, a West Midlands based specialist in the rental of advanced compressed air systems, has completed the purchase of a range of London Low Emission Zone compliant mobile diesel compressors.

The London Low Emission Zone (LEZ) is a traffic pollution charge scheme with the aim of reducing the exhaust gas emissions of diesel-powered commercial vehicles in London.

Following in-depth consultations with many of its clients, Genair decided to equip its hire fleet with LEZ compliant air compressors. The intention is to offer construction firms, operating in the Greater London area and elsewhere, reduced air polluting equipment.

In a spend totalling in excess of £1m, Genair has added to its fleet an additional 30 LEZ complaint mobile diesel compressors - ready to rent nationwide. These sets have been individually designed and built entirely to Genair specifications.

Commenting on this latest investment, David Timmins, Genair’s managing director said, “We are an environmentally responsible company that aims to provide the latest innovative and sustainable equipment available in the market. We believe that workers, visitors and residents in the London area are entitled to breathe the cleanest air possible. Therefore we took the decision to equip our fleet with these new compressors to help lower the amount of air pollution generated from our equipment.”

Incorporated in April 2007, Genair is independently owned and a leading rental specialist of compressed air systems in the UK. The company operate from three strategically placed depots: Motherwell, Slough and in the West Midlands. Registered to ISO 9001, the Genair team has a collective 140 years’ experience in the compressed air markets, with fully qualified service technicians and ADR drivers. It supplies equipment throughout the UK and overseas.
