MACH 2018: Sales ramp up
After a very successful MACH 2016 exhibition, which boasted sold-out exhibitor space, a 10% increase in visitors on 2014, and with more than £150 million worth of business attributed to the show, the MTA (Manufacturing Technologies Association) reports that things are looking good for a repeat of this in 2018
Sales for the 2018 event are described by MTA CEO, James Selka, as 'a very encouraging sign for the industry'. More than 75% of the exhibition’s space has already been sold, with just under a year to go before the show opens.
MACH 2018 takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from 9th to 13th April and looks on course to be another bumper show. Following on from the sold-out success of MACH 2016, James Selka commented: “With new halls and extra space to sell, we are seeing premium spots being snapped up by exhibitors at a good rate, leaving us with a little under a quarter of the show left to sell, which is a very encouraging sign for the industry at this stage. So we’d encourage all companies wishing to book a stand for MACH 2018 to act quickly to secure their space at the UK’s premier manufacturing technologies showcase.”
MACH 2018 will take place on the atrium side of the NEC, in Halls 17, 18, 19, 20, 6 and 7. This is the first move for the show since relocating to the NEC when it opened in 1976 and reflects the changing technologies the show covers. The new layout is all on one level, enhancing both the visitor and exhibitor experience.
Keen to return
Mike Dinsdale, MD of MACH exhibitor, Ghuring, which manufactures precision rotary cutting tools, said of the move: “Changing the halls gives a different dimension and makes it new again. People will come and try the show again.”
Dave Hurley, MD of another MACH exhibitor, PDJ Vibro, which is a vibratory deburring and polishing expert, said the leads generated from MACH encouraged him to return again in 2018: “The leads you get from MACH are of a quality I can’t find anywhere else, not through the internet or other exhibitions.”
He continued: “Last year (2016) I did five exhibitions and the other four added together didn’t come to a fraction of the leads that the MACH exhibition yielded, so I think that tells a story.”
The show is the UK’s premier manufacturing technology showcase and will take an in-depth look at the latest technological advances in and around the advanced manufacturing sector. Hot topics for discussion at the show will include Industry 4.0 and the interconnectivity of machines, Additive Manufacturing and cyber security, to name but a few.
James Fudge, MTA’s head of events, said" “We’re really excited by the development of the MACH sales process; we’ve seen a lot of returning exhibitors increase the size of their stands and commit to attending the show. MACH is the only place to see a fully integrated picture of the UK manufacturing.”
