MM: What's the problem?

SO: As hazardous materials experts of 25 years we spend a lot of time on a range of sites and we were finding that although companies are getting a lot better at understanding their obligations around hazardous materials storage, time and again health & safety audits highlight that they need better systems in place to manage these materials. It’s surprising how many offices are still full of paper copies of Safety Data Sheets, incident reports, regulatory requirements, staff training files and countless other documents with digital copies of these stored on numerous different devices and platforms. 

This makes keeping up with report deadlines, risk assessments, inspection reports and inventory lists a major challenge for many organisations and consequently the thought of a Health & Safety audit keeps many people awake at night. There is also anxiety about what would happen if there was a chemical spill or emergency on site.

MM: What's your solution? 

SO: We wanted to create an easier way to keep track of all these management tasks and a system that could reassure companies that they were compliant and prepared at all times which is why we have introduced 'Chempli.'

MM: What are some of the key features of Chempli?

SO: A live chemical inventory tracks all containers in multiple locations across an organisation and can set live expiry dates, automatic SDS management simplifying stocktaking. 

Users can assess risks for chemical agents; production processes and any tasks carried out using hazardous materials using the Risk Management Module. Reports can be shared with multiple users and users can ensure approvals are obtained before any work is carried out. Users can tag reports to both their Chemstore library and inventory ensuring critical safety data is available instantly with individual access for the entire team. 

Chempli will create an enhanced site map of a premises which depicts; Hazmat store locations, locations of emergency equipment, assembly points, PPE and most importantly will allow access to view linked modules on the system ensuring complete control during an audit or an emergency situation.

Within the training module users are equipped with full authorisation workflow and remain in control of scheduling, course specifications and notes for a whole team to ensure that no employee is carrying out work without the required training. 

The system allows instant access to the Chemstore maintenance team who will carry out scheduled testing and reports for safety stores and equipment ensuring that everything is compliant come audit time. 

MM: How does Chempli fit into Industry 4.0?
