A British team of scientists has announced a major breakthrough in the fight against climate change with the creation of a new tunable catalyst capable of using captured carbon dioxide as a key raw material for polyols. Econic Technologies is hoping that by 2027, 30% of all polyol production will take place using the catalyst, meaning that 3.5 million tonnes of CO2 emissions could be saved each year – the equivalent to taking two million cars off the road.
