Rhodes Interform invests in young engineer
RHODES INTERFORM, part of Wakefield-based Group Rhodes, has appointed 21-year-old Archie Murdoch-Dawson as a mechanical fitter, highlighting the company’s investment in young engineering talent

Prior to joining Rhodes Interform, Murdoch-Dawson studied for a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering at Leeds City College.
While studying, he secured his first placement in the engineering sector at a company based near Group Rhodes in West Yorkshire. Here he gained early exposure to design, machining and build processes that helped improve his practical skills. After two years in this role, he joined Rhodes Interform in the role of mechanical fitter.
“I have been interested in machines and robotics from an early age and dreamed of a career in engineering one day, where I could learn new skills and put them into practice. I am really enjoying my role as a mechanical fitter, engineering is a great industry to work in and I’m proud to be part of the team at Group Rhodes,” explained Murdoch-Dawson.
His role involves all types of mechanical fitting, mechanical assembly and liaising with project and purchasing teams on project status to ensure, project tasks are on track and will meet customer requirements.
“We are delighted to welcome Archie to the company,” said Group Rhodes CEO Mark Ridgway. “Our sector is facing a significant and growing skills shortage, making it more important than ever that we invest in the next generation and provide young people with clear pathways into rewarding careers.
“We are very pleased to have Archie on board and look forward to supporting his development and seeing his career progress with Group Rhodes,” he added.
