Energy efficiency is one of Airedale’s key design criteria across its entire range. It also offers a range of refurbishment options to return all leading makes of equipment to peak operational performance.

One option, it says, is to upgrade from AC to EC fans, bringing potential energy savings of up to 70%. Another option, says Airedale, is to optimise building services by upgrading to its ACIS BMS. Installed in 780 of Iceland’s UK stores, ACIS is expected to bring energy savings of around £6.2m pa. ACIS software allows temperature set points to be adjusted to boost free cooling.

Commissioning and ongoing service and maintenance by Airedale’s engineers will keep system performance and energy efficiency at the highest levels and so contribute to the bottom line; with estimates that a 10% loss in refrigerant charge can increase operational costs by up to 20%, the decision to invest in preventative maintenance is easy to justify. Stand C46
