Excalibur has completed a project to
reduce the electrical consumption of
air conditioning chillers at Manchester
Airport by over 4,000,000kWh. A
pilot installation two years earlier
demonstrated the potential of
Excalibur’s technology to reduce
power consumption by over 30%.

The installation of Liquid Pressure
Amplification has allowed compressor
discharge pressures to be reduced. At
low ambient temperatures, chiller
efficiency has almost doubled.

The most efficient compressor
discharge pressure will vary depending
on compressor loading and ambient
temperature. Inverter control of
condenser fans compensates for
these conditions to ensure optimum
efficiency is maintained.
