Niton UK has introduced a new
analyser suitable for recycling
applications. The XL2 XRF combines
a tough, yellow exterior with
sophisticated electronics to
produce an instrument
that is well suited to
the arduous
conditions often
found in metal
recycling yards and
premises.

Developed by Thermo
Fisher Scientific, it allows
the user simply to ‘point
and shoot’, providing
rapid results that are
displayed on a full-colour
screen. Niton says that
non-technical personnel will be able
to operate the instrument easily.

A software suite, provided with
the instrument, allows the analyser
to be customised, including setting
user
permissions,
producing
bespoke
reports, and
creating
personalised certificates. It also
allows simple data transfer to a
PC or similar using connections
via USB cable or Bluetooth
technology to make
communication of the results and
subsequent analysis or print out
quick and efficient.
