The MAP3 mobile access platform,
developed by Abex to ensure safer
practices when working at height,
has won the UK Fork Lift Truck
Association’s 2010 Award for safety.

Martin Connop, MD, accepted the
‘Archie’ award from Tim Waples of
category sponsor Doosan Infracore
Forklifts.

He says: “We designed the MAP3
as a much safer alternative to ladders
and scaffolding, which according to
HSE figures are the most common
pieces of equipment involved in
injuries and fatalities.”
The electric powered rechargeable
MAP3 is controlled from the platform.

Its locking system immobilises the
unit when the front gates are open,
while extending sidebars add to safety.
