The five acre, 30,000ft2 site is the location of the main processing centre for Barrett Steel Ireland offering cutting, drilling, shotblasting and priming.

Rob Ridge, Barrett Steel’s commercial development director, explains: “The purchase of the site from which we are currently operating underlines our continuing investment and commitment to the Irish market.

“We have increased our workforce by 20% with the launch of Barrett Engineering Steel Ireland at the Maghaberry site and we will add new people, stocks and machinery as the business grows. The purchase is part of our strategic plan – we want to be known by every steel user in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.”
