To shorten this prototyping process
further, it now offers 3D printing of
custom seals and mouldings.

Andrew Piper, technical director,
says: “Adopting the latest 3D printing
technology was the next logical step
in speeding the prototyping process
for our clients. It is really fast and,

In addition to supplying two new
Merlin progressing cavity pumps and
spares to Jet-Lube of Maidenhead,
NOV Mono also provided technical
guidance which helped the company
increase the efficiency of some of its
existing pump equipment.

Adrian Russell, works manager,
says: “We purchased a Mono Merlin
pump which we installed ourselves
in our kettling plant. We were pleased
with the pump’s performance and
decided to purchase some additional
Merlin pumps for the plant.

“During the course of our
discussions, Mono was able to advise
on changes we could make which
improved the efficiency of the older
Mono D Range pumps by some 30%,
by modifying the pipework and
fitting a new mechanical seal. That
sort of technical guidance from a
manufacturer is extremely valuable.”
Jet-Lube has since purchased two
Merlin pumps to transfer base grease
which is kept at 120°C and has a
high acid content.

medium, the client can better
visualise the end result and identify
potential design faults.”
This has been made possible by a
range of rubber-like materials that
exhibit many elastomeric
characteristics – diverse Shore A
hardness values, elongation at break,
tear resistance and tensile strength.
