As part of Travis Perkins’
nationwide project to bring
its waste processing in-house,
the company purchased three
waste processing machines to
sort and bale cardboard
collected from its various
branches. Providing cover for
a large auto baler is a
temporary structure from
Aganto.

The company built a 15m
wide by 20m long building
around the machinery. It has
an eave height of 5.2m to
accommodate the auto baler
and two roller shutter doors
for forklift access. As no
insulation was required,
single skin steel cladding was
used for the walls, together
with a PVC roof system.

Travis Perkins opted to
purchase the building as the
new operation is a long-term
project. The company can
process 4.5t of cardboard
into bales every. Skips have
been removed, leading to
significant savings, and bales
are sold on for recycling.
