Thorworld Industries has been
granted a UK patent for its sliding
nylon dock bumper that helps reduce
damage to buildings and vehicles,
and helps protect goods being carried.

The bumper comprises a heavyduty
black powder-coated steel frame,
which is fixed to sound concrete or
steelwork on the loading dock. The
frame houses a solid block of nylon,
and a special fixing method enables
inclusion of a heavy duty rubber
packer at the rear to ensure shock
absorption. The sliding design means
each bumper can be turned upsidedown
and back-to-front to ensure
even wear. The nylon can move with
the vehicle, minimising abrasion
damage.
