Hoval’s new CompactGas welded
steel LTHW boiler is the first noncondensing
boiler to incorporate its
aluFer heat exchanger technology to
maximise heat exchange efficiencies.

It is said to close the gap between
conventional and condensing boiler
technologies, making it a suitable
back-up for biomass and other low
carbon heating plant.

It uses Hoval’s combustion process
to produce low dwell times in the
high temperature zone of the flame.

The design of the combustion
chamber is such that exhaust gases
flow out of the end onto a secondary
heating surface for optimum
combustion. Efficiencies are said to
be typically 3.5%, compared to
conventional steel shell boilers. The
‘complete combustion’ design
reduces NOx emissions to below 80
mg/kWh depending on the burner.
