HCA Coating, a specialist in the
application of industrial powder
coatings to metal substrates, recently
approached the Southampton branch
of surface coatings technology
specialist, Hi-Tec Spray to ‘test drive’
an ITW Gema Optiflex powder
coating system. So successful was the
trial that HCA bought three units.

The user-friendly Optiflex power
management system offers up to 20
coating programs and three pre-set
standard programs for flat parts,
complex parts and re-coat, which
can be achieved without the need to
preheat, so saving on oven costs. The
control unit ensures uniform powder
transport capability enabling precision
application with reproducible results
for standard or metallic finishes and
no re-visits. The saving on powder
was estimated at 12 – 17%.
