Vega Controls says condensation
collecting inside pressure sensors is a
common problem particularly in
hydrostatic and process pressure
transmitters in the food, beverage
and pharmaceutical sectors, and
outdoor applications.

To overcome this,
Vega has designed a
special Vegabar pressure
transmitter that uses
two high accuracy
sealed ‘absolute’
measuring cells. One
cell measures barometric or gauge
pressure, the other is for the process
pressure (including gauge). They are
mounted in an IP66/IP68 housing
with a Gortex breather. The design
isolates the sensitive measuring cell
circuits. Any condensation remains
in the wetted ‘process side’ of the
unit, not in the electronics.
