Ardo UK, the frozen fruit and
vegetable specialist, has boosted its
environmental credentials
by reducing electricity
consumption for its cold
store lighting and cooling
systems by 97%.

The new lighting
management system adjusts
light levels automatically
via sensors according to
production and activity needs at any
time across the cold store’s mobile
racking system.

It is the first time the US-based
Digital Lumens intelligent LED
lighting system has been used in a
mobile-racking environment in the
UK and its introduction has seen
consumption drop from
812,344kWh a year to just
16,687kWh.

unoccupied at any given
moment but we had to leave our old
lighting on all the time.
