WPL offers a range of
wastewater treatment options
to aid compliance with
discharge consent standards
or to reduce trade effluent
discharge costs. In a recent
application WPL has installed
a wastewater treatment
solution for Hampshire
Cosmetics, helping the
toiletries and cosmetics
manufacturer to reduce its
trade effluent bill.

WPL identified a chemical
regime that would reduce the
company’s COD (chemical
oxygen demand) from 85
however this would increase
s.s. (suspended solids) and
generate solids that would
require removal.

Following discussions with
Southern Water it was agreed
that if the COD could be
reduced, the resulting s.s.

could continue to discharge to
sewer, negating the need for
using expensive sludge
removal techniques.

Under a five year contract,
WPL supplies capital
equipment, service and
chemicals for a monthly fee.
