TRUMPF BrightLine is said to represent a breakthrough in solid state laser cutting. The company says it is possible to achieve excellent quality when cutting thick sheets with a fiber laser (which conventionally is best suited to thin sheet). Using BrightLine, it is possible to change from thin to thick sheet processing on a single machine platform without any loss of quality. Up to 25mm thick steel, stainless steel and aluminium can now be cut using a solid state laser with excellent edge quality.
