Cavitation and noise issues from high
pressure hoses and centrifugal pumps
prompted beverage giant Halewood
International to seek an alternative
means of decanting sugars and fruit
juice concentrates from tankers
arriving at its UK HQ in Merseyside.

Installation of three Maso-Sine
SPS4 pumps from Watson-Marlow
Pumps Group has halved unloading
times for sugars, and for syrups it has
been more than quartered. The
pumps have a sinusoidial rotor for
gentle, low shear product handling.

Heavy duty construction means they
can also handle high pressure tasks.

Three MasoSine SPS4 pumps have
been in operation at Halewood for
12 months and to date there have
been no reliability issues.
