Dust Control Systems will feature
the Ecogate System, an extraction
optimisation system that is said to be
able to save up to 80% (with an
average of 62%) on current
extraction power usage.
The company says in a typical setup,
less than 50% of exhaust points
may be operating at any given time
yet the extraction fan is usually
running all the time. The automated
Ecogate System is computer
controlled and uses automatic
motorised gates and remote sensors.
When a workstation becomes active,
the sensor signals the Ecogate
greenBOX controller to open the
appropriate motorised duct gate to
provide extraction.When a machine
stops working, the gate closes. The
greenBOX controller constantly
monitors individual workstations
and determines optimum speed of
the extraction fan, achieved via a VSD.
This means power is only used when
necessary. Stand F11
