The Engineering Simulation Show 2015 has attracted some of the biggest names in simulation technology from as far afield as Russia, Canada, America, Australia and across Europe.

 

On view will be the different types of software that are involved in the design of everything from creating chocolate to launching a space probe.

 

Ken Davies, director, said: “Everything we own, every single product that is bought and made is designed and over the last 10 years this design phase has moved on incredibly quickly in terms of sophistication.

 

“Simulation is so much more accurate and cost effective than the old prototyping systems, and with the advances in technology we have seen in the last decade and are seeing on the horizon, the appetite for even more sophisticated design systems has never been higher.”

 

As well as the exhibitors, there will be speakers throughout the two days talking about how they use the software on show, including some from the European Space Agency, Bentley, Jaguar Land Rover and Airbus.

 

Topics being discussed include the Rosetta Space Mission, how lighter cars are able to produce less CO2 emissions and Bentley’s Strive project, which will help create new vehicle models quicker using virtual reality software.

 

There is a zone dedicated entirely to supercomputing as processing power is a key element in achieving the best out of simulation technology.

The event is free to attend and is aimed at those with a professional interest in both engineering and IT.

 

The Engineering Simulation Show takes place on the 15th and 16th April.
