The two fast-action Speedors were installed to minimise the escape of dust and smells as well as to keep out birds and rodents. “The fast action allows for a quick arrival and tipping of waste within a closed harsh environment so reducing the chance of smells leaving the building,” says a Hart spokesman. 

Both Storms were supplied with heated motor hoods and IP66 electrical control panels to combat moisture. The largest door was 8m high and 6m wide.
