The British Safety Council has
awarded a five star rating to Hertel, a
multi-discipline construction and
maintenance services company that
works at the Magnox nuclear power
station at Wylfa on Anglesey.

It is the second time the maximum
star rating has been awarded to
Hertel and follows the presentation
of the Sword of Honour, the leading
award for safety standards, in 2011.

British Safety Council inspectors
said that ‘the company delivers high
risk activities which are controlled to
an exceptional standard’. They also
saw the high standards of training
and capabilities among the Hertel
staff on-site as contributory factors
to Hertel’s safety values.
