They can be rebuilt or re-profiled by
the application of Henkel’s Nordbak
epoxy wearing compounds, Hysol
polymer composites and/or Loctite
brushable ceramics. They can create
a sacrificial and renewable working
surface, protecting the structural
integrity of the original substrate.
Loctite coatings can be used to
improve pump efficiency. Cavitation
effects and wear on impellers and
casings is a common problem. Eriks
has found that Loctite products can
quickly restore the flow and pressure
of a worn pump, resulting in it
consuming less power. Before and
after tests have confirmed efficiency
gains of up to 43%.
The bowl and conveyor of a
decanter centrifuge too are subjected
to wear and chemical attack. Henkel
says depending on the condition of
the bowl, cost savings of up to 75%
can be achieved by repairing with
Loctite rather than replacing the part.
