Weidmüller’s new comprehensive
lightning and surge protection VPU
series fulfils requirements for
protection levels 1, 2 and 3 for power
networks. This means full compliance
with the current IEC 61643-11 and
the future EN 61643-11 standard
being introduced in 2013.

The VPU product series is based
on a combination of varistor and gas
discharge technology. Due to its
conformity with standards dating
back at least five years, users of the
product can minimise the iterative
steps for planning in accordance with
the application standard IEC61643-12
and the associated re-designs.
